In this case, the weather over Europe is dominated by several low pressure systems over eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Alps, generating rain and thunderstorms (Figure 1). Over the Mediterranean Sea and around the Ural Mountains, high pressure means a calm atmosphere with high 2-m temperatures. The weather in the Carpathian Basin is determined by a low pressure system. We can expect rain in the southern part of Hungary. Figure 2 shows the cloud field over Europe at 08:55 UTC.
