Weather Events

These weather events are mainly associated with enhanced deep convection activity along the eastern flank of the Bolivian High. More specifically, the following parameters are described as they occur in the northern Argentina.

Parameter Description
Precipitation
  • Enhanced MCSs activity in northern Argentina.
  • Locally heavy precipitation on the lee side of the Andes range in northwestern Argentina.
Temperature
  • No change at the surface.
Wind (incl. gust)
  • Strong wind and shear in upper levels in the southern part of the BH.
  • Strong gusts are possible around deep convection or MCSs.
Other relevant information
  • Risk of high level turbulence related to the upper level jet located at the southern part of the BH.
  • Risk of mid-level turbulence near the Andes mountain in northwestern Argentina.
