Below a 1 hour radar (PPI reflectivity) + Satellite (MSG/IR 10.8) loop is provided. This product is available in real time to AEMet forecasters. Have a look to the loop and try to answer the questions.

Questions:

  • Which of both cells (Sueca and Elche) deserve more attention as a potential flooding producer? What about surface wind damage potential?
  • Apart from the target main convective cells, can we see any new potentially severe development during this time sequence?
  • Can we see differences in direction of movement between different cells?
  • Are the cell movement nowcasts (white lines) accurate for most cells?
