This catastrophic case describes two Mediterranean low pressure systems, propagating along a so-called 5b path. Two major heavy precipitation events took place over Central Europe: The first event happened between 06 and 08 August and was caused by a Genoa Cyclone, the second between 10 and 13 August associated with a Back Bent Occlusion. Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary are affected by catastrophic flash floods.
