INCA - 24 hours precipitation accumulation

18 September 2007

The configuration of INCA used in Slovenia is the following: LAM ALADIN fields are used as a first guess. Additionally SYNOP observations, AMP data and radar data are incorporated into the analysis.

The image shows the 24 hours precipitation accumulation (mm) based on 30 minutes INCA precipitation analysis. It can be seen that the maximum precipitation is found in NW Slovenia. The analysis gives the good indication that event was extreme in spite of the fact that extreme precipitation fallen also just South of the maximum was not captured due to mountain screening for radar data and not dense AMP network.
