Your shift lasts from 1800 hours on the 29th of October until 0300 hours on the 30th of October. Your office is in Munich and today you are responsible for the Alpine area of the Eastern Alps.

Your colleagues from the afternoon shift have left you the following note:

"Gentle foehn wind conditions, cold front passing over the Alps overnight.

Winds weakening tomorrow.

Your job is to observe the weather and - if necessary - issue a warning:

Rain: > 20 mm h-1                Wind gusts: > 15 m s-1

Focus on impact-oriented warnings and keep an eye on densely populated areas such as cities.

You have different material that you can examine to get an overview of the weather situation.

The data will update as time progresses (which happens 15 times faster than in reality).

Please use the first few minutes to get a rough overview and look at more details throughout your shift.

On the left hand side different tasks will appear that have to be completed to the best of your knowledge. These tasks will also help you to make various decisions.
