MSG IR10.8 imagery with wind at 300 hPa: time sequence
9th June 2004: 00UTC
This image reaveals the wind in 300 hPa and the IR. The bright cloud complex of the super cell is at the right entrance region of the jet that is connected to positive vorticity advection and often a wave development. The wind barbs show a divergence at about 55°N / 5°E. The jet axis is near-by the edge of the high clouds extending from South Norway to Southeast.

The whole complex of bright cloud pattern in combination with the right entrance region of the jet and the divergence moved to North Germany.
9th June 2004: 12UTC
The convective cloud complex moved to the Chech Republic and weakened. A weak indication of the right entrance of the jet can be seen east of Berlin.
