Fog Layer 19 Dec 2006/00 UTC - 23 Dec 2006/12 UTC: Temperature
19 Dec 2006/00 UTC
VCS of Temperature (Kelvin) shows the development of the intensive surface-based inversion layer during the episode. The temperature inversion top is located at first near 850 hPa, but gradually lowers down to 900 hPa. The strength of the inversion is at maximum over 15 degrees. On 23 December the capping inversion is lifted and a mixed layer from surface up to 950 hPa develops.
