A surface low marks the location of former tropical storm Alberto. Over Switzerland a ridge of high pressure is found. A cyclonic cloud feature over Poland and Russia is not reflected at the surface isohypses.

The depression slowly moves northeast towards Scandinavia. The influence of the ridge of high pressure found over the Alps is decreasing.

Situated in a surface trough the first convection is observed over southern part of Eastern Germany. The surface ridge of high pressure we saw previous over the Alps is moving south.

Convection has reached its climax. A pronounced trough is now observed over Germany reaching far into the Czech Republic. The axis of the trough is just ahead of the large scale convection.

Due to lack of insolation the convection has more or less died out. Over the Alps a ridge of high pressure is seen. The trough previously seen over the Czech Republic has also shifted northwards again.
